Covid-19: the recommendations of ffgolf

The exceptional situation created by the COVID-19 epidemic calls on the French Golf Federation to take a certain number of measures relating to the organization of competitions and groupings to take place on French soil over the coming weeks.

These measures come into force on March 13 and initially extend until May 31, 2020. They apply to federal competitions as a whole and do not directly relate to leisure or competitive club practice.

They apply to the entire French, metropolitan and overseas territory.

The ffgolf will postpone the following events sine die, until further notice:

  1. Those, on the occasion of which titles of champions of France, regional or departmental champion are delivered.
  2. Individual and collective federal corporate golf events.
  3. The club competitions organized directly by the ffgolf, its leagues and its departmental committees.
  4. Individual competitions organized directly by ffgolf, its leagues and its departmental committees.
  5. The Grands Prix Jeunes Majeurs and the Grands-Prix Jeunes.
  6. International individual or team events.

With regard to federal groupings or collective training gatherings:

This type of gathering is suspended until further notice.

Regarding events such as the Senior Grand-Prix, the Senior Trophies, the Mid-Amateurs Classics, the Mid-Amateurs Grand-Prix and the Grand-Prix:

It is not the role of ffgolf to interfere in the life of clubs.

However, in line with the remarks made by the Head of State during his televised address on March 12, as well as in a spirit of solidarity as much as of responsibility, we can only highly recommend to the clubs, to postpone the holding of these tests pending the withdrawal of the Covid-19.

Regarding club events:

As specified in the previous paragraph, it is not the role of ffgolf to interfere in the life of clubs.

The organization of club competitions - in their format, number of competitors, or frequency - differs greatly from club to club. Some bring together less than 10 competitors and do not give rise to a prize-giving ceremony. This is particularly the case for classification competitions or very specific one-off events open to a restricted public. Others attract many competitors and are followed by festivities sometimes bringing together several hundred people. It therefore seems irrelevant for the ffgolf to issue general recommendations. However, of course, we recommend that club leaders show the greatest vigilance and responsibility in the health context that is ours.

In all cases, the clubs cannot be called upon to organize events which would bring together more than 100 people simultaneously, in accordance with directives from the public authorities, as indicated today by the Prime Minister.

The Sports Department of ffgolf is at your disposal to assist you in the implementation of these measures and stand by your side to give you the help or advice you may need.
