Surrounded by pine trees, you perceive the multiple and incomparable aromas of the Mediterranean groves, the rays of the sun, in the background the soft sound of the sea as well as the blue horizon of this aquatic space which gives name and meaning to the Costa Brava. And you close your eyes, enjoying an incredible pleasure that no other place in the world can provide. One of the curiosities of the Costa Brava, this territory of the northeast quarter of the Iberian Peninsula is to be equidistant from the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees. From the edge of the big blue, you will only need an hour's journey by car to perfect your last shot on the wet lawn of a green backed by the great Pyrenean monoliths.

This is the diversity that defines the regions of Girona and gives them their inimitable personality: a pact between sea and mountain, a meeting between water and granite, a marriage between snow and sand. Fontanals Golf, Reial Club de Golf de Cerdanya, Club de Golf Camprodon, the autonomous province of Catalonia in which the Costa Brava is integrated has more widely 37 golf courses, 5 Par 3 and more than 40 pitch & putts. The courses are generally part of tourist complexes or are located near establishments designed especially for players or golf enthusiasts. At the same time, they offer non-players additional proposals related to health, well-being, gastronomy, culture and leisure.

For several years, the PGA Golf de Catalunya has hosted the Spanish Golf Open, one of the stages of the PGA Tour Europe. Inaugurated in 1999, it is one of the most emblematic sites on the Iberian peninsula for the organization of international competitions.

The PGA Catalunya Resort has also received the prize for "Best Golf Resort in Europe 2015" awarded by the International Association of Golf Golf Operators (IAGTO). This 36-hole course spread over two courses, the Stadium Course and the Tour Course, is the work of Neil Coles and Ángel Gallardo, two of the most experienced golfers on the European Tour. It enjoys a beautiful view of the Pyrenees and the Montseny mountains and is close to Caldes de Malavella, known in particular for the quality of its thermal waters.

Whatever their location (Club de Golf Costa Brava, Empordà Golf, Golf Girona, Golf Platja de Pals, Club de Golf Peralada, PGA Golf Catalunya, Torremirona Golf Club, Club Golf d'Aro-Mas Nou, Par 3 P&P Gualta and Lloret Papalús Pitch & Putt), the pleasure of the beautiful game is guaranteed in all seasons on the many pitches of the Costa Brava. The vast majority of the courses also respect very strict quality standards and in 2000 received the distinction that the IAGTO awards to the best emerging golf destination. Another asset for the Costa Brava-Barcelona region, which has applied for the organization of the Ryder Cup in 2022 against countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal.
