The suspense was at its height when the Norwegian Suzann Pettersen limped 2.50 m on the green of the 18th, the putt of the victory thus allowed the European team to lift the Solheim Cup!

Céline Boutier, as she had expressed when she learned of her qualification, did not only participate but well won this 19th edition of the Solheim Cup. The Parisienne went undefeated on the PGA's centennial course, winning all three matches and the final 2 & 1 game against American rookie Annie Park. The Frenchwoman may have given up the first two holes, but quickly recovered with birdies on holes 9, 11 and 13, and leading for the first time.

After the match, Céline Boutier commented: “It's pretty amazing, I'm so happy and I've never experienced anything like this! I didn't expect to do this well, but I had a great doubles partner with Georgia. "

European team captain Catriona Matthew said after the victory: " It's incredible. The sun, the weather, the crowds were fantastic and it was a historic moment. We would never have won without it. We knew it would be tight but we had to come back to the last putt with Suzann which was amazing, it was a spectacular team performance. "

The pair Céline Boutier and the English Georgia Hall won the first point of Europe Friday morning at the opening of the Solheim Cup 2019. Playing against the American duo Lexi Thompson and Brittany Altomare, they were encouraged by more than 2 500 spectators alongside the captains of the European and American teams.

Boutier, 25, and Hall, 23, were in charge of the second game on the course as Thompson, third in the world, saw a short putt that put Europe in the lead. Boutier played a long shot, taking the 10 green to give Europe the hole, further increasing their lead.

Thompson then missed his putt at 12, which allowed Europe to move up to 4 at 13. Europe was at 3up with three holes to play to finish 2 & 1.

Boutier commented: “It was rather unreal, my heart was about to explode. I love being at home in Europe and having all the local crowds, the vibe was great. Georgia and I made a really good team and we played really well together. "

Hall added: “Boutier is an incredible player and a great partner. We both stayed calm and won the crucial points at the right time. "

The Europeans took a small lead at the start of the second day, 4.5 - 3.5.

During the foursomes on Saturday morning, Boutier and Hall won 3 & 2 against the American duo Lizette Salas and Ally McDonald in a game to say the least windy.

The European duo made two consecutive birdies to get 3up against the American duo. Boutier had a very good long distance putt at the 11th hole, which led them even further in the lead.

After the match, Boutier said: “It was incredibly difficult. The course itself, without the wind, is quite difficult, so add the wind and it gets really complicated! We did a good job and we didn't give them the opportunity to win anything. "

Hall added: “We played amazingly and were very happy to get the second win. It was important to pick up our pace and not go too fast. "

The duo played once again in the foursomes on Saturday afternoon where they made an incredible comeback, coming back from 4 down after 7 holes before winning the last 5 holes and thus winning 2up. Boutier and Hall have won their three games together and remain undefeated. They gave Europe an extra point by scoring the total of 8 points after the second day. La Francilienne put in a 20-meter putt on hole 14, which completely changed the game in favor of Europe.

After the match, Céline Boutier commented: “We both got motivated throughout the match and we both stayed positive. "
