The tournament will now be called the Cazoo Open de France. The partnership will allow Cazoo to have extensive brand visibility on and off the field, including on tee boxes, greenside displays, par and yardage signs, and rider bibs. players. This new agreement is an extension of the current partnership between Cazoo and the DP World Tour, which already includes two tournaments: the Cazoo Open in Wales as well as the Cazoo Classic in England.

The 104th edition of the French Open will return to Le Golf National, which hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup, as well as the French Open for the first time in 1991, when Argentinian Eduardo Romero beat Sam Torrance and José María Olazábal with two shots. Nicolas Colsaerts remains the tournament's most recent winner, following the emotional victory of the previous Ryder Cup winner in 2019, which gave Belgium their first title in seven years.

The Cazoo Open de France 2022 will have an endowment of 3 million euros, double the amount at stake during its last edition in 2019. The tournament will be held from September 22 to 25, 2022, the same week as the Ryder 2018 Cup. Thomas Bjørn's European team beat the United States 17½ – 10, for this edition which was organized for the first time in France.
