After a year of interruption due to the pandemic which caused the closure of the Mauritian borders for a long period, the Beachcomber Golf Cup, an event for amateurs, is starting again for a fourth edition in 24 clubs throughout France.

Taking up its famous unique and innovative format, in match play over 6 holes, the Beachcomber Golf Cup is open to all doubles: mixed of course, but also women's and men's, to allow everyone to participate and try their luck.

The aim is to offer clubs that have joined the concept the greatest freedom of organization. Some are setting up a knockout competition, where the pairs will compete this summer to qualify for the final. Others opt for a group model of 4 teams, which guarantees them to offer a minimum of 3 matches of 6 holes to each duo and allows to start the competition by bringing together all the competitors on the same day.

Antoine Robin, co-founder of come#together, the organizing company, justifies these choices: “One of the main obstacles to playing amateur golf is the lack of time. The 6-hole format allows you to play quickly at the end of the day or to chain several matches in the same day. Team match-play is also a much more fun and stimulating way to practice this sport. »

To participate, simply register directly with one of the 24 clubs taking part in the competition. Qualifying started at the end of March for some clubs and will last until the end of September. The registration cost is determined by each club, and may vary depending on the status of the player, whether he is a member, subscriber or simple visitor.

Three highlights

The Beachcomber Golf Cup, en route to Mauritius still takes place in three phases:

  • From March to September = a regional qualification in about thirty clubs, distributed throughout France to open up to the greatest number of licensees.
  • October 10 = a final on the prestigious course of Saint-Germain (78) will bring together the winning teams of the selection organized in their club. The “Champions League” type formula (in pools of 4) creates a dramatic atmosphere during this exceptional day.
  • From November 10 to 13 = A Grand Final in Mauritius for the 4 best teams at the end of the final.

The island of the Indian Ocean is a particularly popular destination for golfers. The Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels group offers 4 golf resorts:

  • The Trou aux Biches and the Canonnier to the North, around the Mont Choisy le Golf course
  • Paradise and Dinarobin in the South, around the Paradis Golf Club course.

It is within the magnificent Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Resort & Spa and on the course of the brand new Mont Choisy golf course that the participants in the Grand Final will have the pleasure of clearing their way to victory. And to perfect this exceptional experience, golfers will have the pleasure of sharing their passion with Antoine Schwartz. The former professional player will be the sponsor of the event and will provide practitioners with his talent and expertise during clinics that will inevitably be unforgettable for the participants.
