La Monnaie de Paris is hosting from February 19 to 27, 2019, the exhibition entitled "Artistes à la Une, Togeth'her" ®, organized to support programs in favor of gender equality and the empowerment of women led by the UN Women.

Featured artists, Togeth'her

Togeth'her will give carte blanche to 33 contemporary artists, women and men from all over the world, by inviting them to imagine on a (blank) cover of Vogue Paris magazine, the portrait of a woman who is iconic and inspiring in their eyes. The 31 exceptional women thus represented have, each in their own field, shaken up the lines of their time and transformed with daring, style and creativity our way of seeing the world. The works will be exhibited in the rooms of the Monnaie de Paris and sold by the auction house Christie's on behalf of the UN Women France Committee.

This “Featured Artists, Togeth'her” ® project designed by curator David-Hervé Boutin, is part of one of the strong directions of the Monnaie de Paris artistic program spearheaded by its director Camille Morineau (also president of AWARE: Archive of Women Artists Research and Exhibition): support and make visible the creation of women artists through exhibitions and events.

The “catalog” of the Togeth'her exhibition and the auction, including all the works produced as well as an interview with each of the artists, produced by Vogue, will be distributed to its readers and subscribers in the Paris region. , with the February 2019 issue.

The prestigious partners of Togeth'her, very committed to contemporary art, also share a particular focus on the cause of women: the Sisley house (sponsor of the operation), UBS, vente-privee and the Christie's house.

Everyone hopes that this exhibition, which is open to the public free of charge, will reach the greatest number of people and, who perhaps also knows, inspire new generations.

The guest artists, for their part, express the plurality and the freedom of voices and expressions that “Artistes à la Une, Togeth'her” ® defends. Confirmed artists on the international scene rub shoulders with the younger generation. Geographical and cultural diversity was at the heart of the criteria for choosing artists and muses, as well as the balance between male and female artists.
