Despite its young age, this award ceremony is a highlight of French golf and has already established itself as an unmissable event. The players have understood this by responding massively during the last edition. But beyond the sportsmen, it is all the actors of the Olympic discipline that the evening federates whether they are organizers, partners, clubs or media.

The Golf Trophies, supported since their creation by the FFGolf and PGA, aim to highlight the exploits achieved during the year but also salute the specific commitment of a club or come to distinguish a personality who has particularly worked for the influence of tricolor golf. In total, just over 10 Trophies will be awarded during the evening, broadcast live on Golf Plus, channel of the Canal Plus group, main partner of the event.

Given the growing success of the Golf Trophies, the ceremony will take place this year in a larger space allowing to welcome more guests. It is therefore at the Pavillon d'Armenonville in the Bois de Boulogne that the names of the golfer and golfer of the year will be revealed, the highlight of the evening.

An exceptional sponsor

After Jean Van de Velde in 2015 and Thomas Levet in 2016, it is once again an exceptional godfather who has accepted to chair the jury of around fifteen members: Armel Le Cleac'h, skipper of Banque Populaire VIII and winner of the Vendée Globe this year in 74 days 3 hours 35 minutes and 46 seconds. A man of challenge, Armel is also passionate about golf. He will also be one of the ambassadors of the Ryder Cup 2018. The prestigious international competition will indeed take place in 2018 for the first time in France at the Golf National de Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, golf course of the French Golf Federation. The winner of the Vendée Globe, invited today by Golf Plus Le Mag (broadcast this evening at 20:30 pm), has been practicing the discipline for several years. He draws from it techniques that help him in some of his races, especially in terms of concentration, and finds several similarities between these two sports, which are so different on paper. “Like on a golf course, in sailing, you can make good shots as well as bad shots, but in both disciplines, you have to know how to move on quickly. Golf is an incredible sport with a lot of values. I am very happy to be able to show that golf is open to everyone and provides great emotions as in all sports. As Ambassador of the Ryder Cup 2018 in France, I am very honored to chair the Golf Trophies jury to reward the best French players ”explains the new President of the Golf Trophies Jury.
