After the Ryder Cup, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is preparing to host the Track Cycling World Cup (first round) in the setting that is the SQY National Velodrome.

From Friday 19 to Sunday 21 October, for the first time in its young history, the SQY National Vélodrome (inaugurated in 2014) will host the first round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup. This event is decisive for the athletes: it is part part of the qualification campaign for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This first round kicks off a traveling competition that includes six stages:

  • Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
  • Milton (Canada / October 26-28, 2018)
  • Berlin (Germany / from November 30 to December 2, 2018)
  • London (Great Britain / December 14-16, 2018)
  • Cambridge (New Zealand / January 18-20, 2019)
  • Hong Kong (Hong Kong / January 25-27, 2019)

The best track athletes on the planet (more than 250 athletes representing nearly 25 countries) will challenge each other on the 250-meter ring, on which the track cycling events will be contested during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This exceptional show will be an opportunity for the new blue-white-red generation, Mathilde Gros, Sébastien Vigier, Benjamin Thomas and others, to shine in front of their audience and to confront the great nations of the discipline like Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand or the Netherlands.

A true figurehead of SQY's know-how in the organization of major sporting events, like the Ryder Cup which has just ended with a victory for the Europeans, the SQY National Velodrome should have a full house in a unique atmosphere. The configuration of the premises, unique in its kind, allows you to be as close as possible to the athletes to attend an extraordinary show.
