Angel Cabrera, according to an Associated Press report, has been arrested by Brazilian federal police to be extradited to his home country on charges of multiple crimes dating back to 2016. He has been redlisted of Interpol.

The AP report states that “The Argentine authorities accused the suspect of assault, theft, unlawful intimidation and repeated disrespect towards the authorities. "

Argentinian media reported earlier this month that Angel Cabrera's ex-wife Silva Rivadero brought two charges against him and that his ex-girlfriend, Cecilia Torres, claimed Cabrera had hit her, threatened and tried to run over him with his car in 2016.

A report from Argentine media Clarín claims that he threatened to kill his former partners.

Angel Cabrera did not play the Masters 2020 last November after undergoing surgery on his left wrist in October.

He last made the PGA Tour Championship at the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach last September, playing two rounds before retiring. In addition to his two majors, he also won the Greenbrier Classic of the PGA Tour in 2014. Cabrera has 41 international victories and he was a member of four Presidents Cup teams.
