Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open de España: Nuria Iturrioz, leader after two laps

Three-time LET winner Nuria Iturrioz continued her fine form at the Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open De Espana, posting a second round in 70 (-2) with two points (-8) ahead of Scottish Kelsey Macdonald as darkness ended play at 18:00 p.m.

With half of the peloton not having completed their second lap, it wasn't quite the Spanish sun that many are used to on the Costa del Sol, but the weather remained dry on day two and favorite Nuria Iturioz took full advantage of the opportunity to take the lead after a marathon day, completing up to 26 holes during a busy day in Andalucia.

“I feel like I've been playing for four days now. I hit a lot of good shots today and put a few putts, I'm happy. It would mean a lot for me to win here, but there are still a lot of holes to play and more at the weekend. I hope I can have the trophy on Sunday, but you never know. »Said Iturioz

Known for her smiling and passionate demeanor on the course, Iturrioz was seen laughing in the rain yesterday and commenting; “I was smiling yesterday because I remembered my victory in Morocco and the weather was similar then, so I just managed to get through. I'm glad I kept my patience.

Paired with current Race to Costa del Sol leader and four-time winner in 2020, Emily Kristine Pedersen, Iturrioz watched the Dane struggle to regain her top form and keep pace with a 71 (-1) card finished with a birdie on the 18.
