Some events in the Ladies European Tour Access Series and the Rose Ladies Series have secured a minimum of six places for the final qualifiers, for those who are not otherwise exempt.

The Santander Golf Tour Zaragoza in the LET Access Series will offer players the chance to win the passage to the next stage of qualifying when it takes place July 22-24 at Real Club De Golf La Penaza.

The Rose Ladies Series event, taking place on August 5 at JCB Golf & Country Club, will also provide an opportunity for players, as the field size increases to accommodate amateur entries from players with a handicap of 0,4 or greater.

These exemptions will replace the traditional AIG Women's Open pre-qualifying event, which was scheduled to take place at Sandy Lodge on Monday, July 12.

Zoe Ridgway, Tournament Director - AIG Women's Open at the R&A, said: “The pre-qualifiers for the AIG Women's Open always attract a large number of international players and, due to the current uncertainty regarding international travel, we want to maintain a pathway to final qualifying for these players.

“Competing in a major championship is a real dream for all golfers and we believe these pre-qualifying changes will give them the opportunity to reach their goal of playing the AIG Women's Open at Carnoustie this year”.

The selected golfers will join the other exempted players during the final qualification which will take place at Panmure on Monday August 16. A minimum of three places for the AIG Women's Open will be offered.
