Aditi Ashok triumphed on Sunday at DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon (India) in front of her home crowd for the first success of her career, becoming at 18 the first Indian player to win a victory on the Ladies European Tour.

Aditi Ashok wins her first title at the Hero Women's Indian Open, the Bangalor player is now a golf legend in India, becoming at 18 the first Indian player to win a victory on the Ladies European Tour!

Leader after two rounds of this tournament played in 54 holes, Ashok was satisfied with a card of 72 to resist the return of the American Brittany Lincicome and the Spaniard Belen Mozo who both fail one stroke. It's a huge triumph for the golfer from Bangalore, in front of her home crowd at the Hero Women's Indian Open!

 “All the conditions were met for me to feel good for this Indian Open, especially as an Indian player in front of my home crowd. It means a lot to me to win this edition " said Ashok.

After winning LET's Lalla Aicha School Tour at age 17 in December 2015, Aditi Ashok qualified for golf's return to the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, recording four top 10 in a row before her first title.

In 2007, the teenager wanted to become a professional golfer after seeing Laura Davies and Gwladys Nocera do battle at the EMAAR-MGF Ladies Masters in her hometown of Bangalore.

Ashok, leapfrogged, Nuria, Iturrios and Angel Yin are tied for the top of the 2016 Rookie leaderboard with € 54,988.20, two leaderboard events are yet to come in Qatar and Dubai.

On the French side, Alexandra Vilatte-Farret and Anne-Lise Caudal (6th, +1) finished in the top 10 just above par, Gwladys Nocera, winner of the event in 2014, finished 13th (+4). Isabelle Boineau (19th), Justine Dreher (25th) and Marion Ricordeau (34th) complete the tricolor record.
