An unmissable meeting of the drawing week in Paris, the 4th edition of DDESSINPARIS, DDESSIN {16}, will invest the 700 m2 under canopies of Atelier Richelieu, in the heart of the capital, from April 1 to 3, 2016.

This new edition, faithful to the vocation of the event of supporting, promoting and accompanying the young emerging scene working drawing in all its forms alongside more established artists, intends once again to offer professionals, collectors and amateurs a moment of artistic discovery, in a friendly atmosphere. DDEssin {16} will also confirm its role as a springboard for international artists, and a major partner for players in the art world.

Twenty French and foreign galleries

DDEssin {16} will host around twenty French and foreign galleries, including Galerie Céline Moine (lyon), Le Collectif Zamaken (Paris), Creative Growth (Oakland, UsA), DRM Galerie (Paris), Galerie 3e Parallel (Paris) , Galerie Elizabeth Couturier (lyon), Galerie KO21 (Paris), Galerie LWS (Paris) which will invest its space this year with a newcomer: Galerie Utens (Paris), and Galerie Polysémie (Marseille), already present on the past editions; as well as news that will make their debut at the show: Galerie Claire Corcia (Paris), Galerie Cyal (Paris), Espace CO2 - La petite collection (Paris), Mary-Laëtitia Gerval Éditions (Avignon), as well as the Noorforart Contemporary Gallery (Aix-en-Provence)… List not final.

Solo shows

3 solo shows will be offered: artists Cristina Escobar (Cuba), Brigitte Lurton (France), and Anahita Masoudi (Iran).

The winners of previous editions of DDESSINPARIS

At the entrance to Atelier Richelieu, visitors can discover works by the winners of the DDEssin Prize from previous editions: from the Iranian artist Nima Zaare Nahandi (DDEssin Prize {13}), French artists Tudi Deligne (DDEssin Prize { 14}) and Klemt (Prix DDEssin {15}).

A set of drawings by Nidhal Chamekh and Massinissa Selmani

the show will also offer a set of drawings by Nidhal Chamekh and Massinissa Selmani - artists presented on the first 3 editions of DDEssinPARis - acquired by collectors of the show and which were part of the selection of Okwui Enwezor at the 56th Venice Biennale in the part of All the World's Futures at the Arsenal. A work by Lucie Picandet - defended by Eve de Medeiros during the first edition in 2013 - winner of the 2nd Emerige Revelations Grant, also acquired by collectors of the show, will complete this set.

An installation by Sascha Nordmeyer

Sascha Nordmeyer, young designer, will present, in partnership with the iUT of Reims - Châlons - Charleville - CDiE (conception, industrial design, packaging), a suspended floral installation in perpetual movement designed around light, flowers and canopy, under the glass roof of Atelier Richelieu.

François Réau, favorite of DDESSIN {16}

the work of François Réau, favorite of DDESSIN {16}, will be honored. his installations and drawings on paper question, through the landscape, the eternal themes of conquest, human fragility, and wide open spaces.

View of the Planet exhibition

Echoing the COP21, Eve de Medeiros, founder and director of DDESSINPARIS, in collaboration with Anne Malherbe, art critic and private consultant, will present an exhibition entitled Regards sur la Planète which will bring together works from different private collections, gathered around environmental and nature issues.

The Illustrators Corner

this year's Corner Illustrators will unveil creations by Marie Boralevi, a graduate of the École supérieure des arts applied Duperré, Margot Denvers, the École de Condé, Hadrien Durand-Bassaîs, notably a graduate of l'Atelier de sèvres, as well as Christelle Tea, graduate of the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. A performance around the drawing will also be offered. Conferences will be scheduled throughout the fair.

Kids

The Kids, a program of visits and awareness of Art for children from 8 to 12 years old, initiated by Christophe Delavault, will be launched on DDESSIN {16}. An opportunity for this young audience to explore the lounge for free and in a fun way, equipped with reading keys in order to better understand contemporary art and drawing.

The DDESSIN Prize {16}

A jury made up of personalities from the world of art and culture will award the DDESSIN {16} Prize at the start of the event.
