A few days before the 2018 Ryder Cup in France, a big stage of the Chalenge Tour invites you to Pléneuf-Val-André with the Cordon Golf Open by Bluegreen

We vibrated with the France team during the Football World Cup, 2nd sporting event after the Olympics, and we have not finished experiencing highlights!

At the end of September, France hosted for the first time in its history the third most watched world sporting event: the legendary Ryder Cup. It will then be golf's turn to be in the news. And just before, to quickly get in the mood, the Bluegreen golf course in Pléneuf-Val-André is hosting one of the 3 stages of the European Challenge Tour in France: the Cordon Golf Open, from August 4 to September 30. More than 2 international players will try to win the title of the 150nd most important golf tournament in France.

An exceptional tournament for an exceptional year

Golf enthusiasts or neophytes will get caught up in the game and will be seduced by the unique atmosphere of a large professional tournament while admiring the beauty of the site and the exceptional views of the seaside landscape. The best European players of the European Challenge Tour will be present at the 12th edition of this great classic of the circuit to pocket precious points at the end of the season. Future headliners, former Ryder Cup participants or winners of major European tournaments will step on the greens of this exceptional course with only one idea in mind: reach the summit, the European Tour.

In 2018, Bluegreen moves the lines of golf

"The Ryder Cup is a real catalyst for the practice of golf, even more so when it takes place in France," says Manuel Biota, President of the Bluegreen golf chain. In this sense, Bluegreen, the French golf leader with 49 courses in France, has built an ambitious development strategy. "If one of the three axes of our strategy is devoted to our involvement in the sporting dimension of golf, with for example, the organization and promotion of the Cordon Golf Open on the Challenge Tour, our brand, today shakes up the misconceptions related to golf and offers new experiences open to all: for a more accessible, more fun, faster, more digital practice. Free access to the tournament is part of this desire of Bluegreen, tournament organizer and site manager, to introduce this sport to as many people as possible.

Cordon Electronics, title partner

Strongly involved in professional golf since 2013, the European leader in the maintenance of telecommunications terminals, Cordon Electronics participates in the development and influence of Breton golf internationally by also supporting young elite amateurs of the Ligue de Bretagne, and by becoming in 2015 the title partner of this international Challenge Tour tournament in Pléneuf. A Breton entrepreneur who is a major partner of the only stage of the Challenge Tour in Brittany makes particular sense. Serge Cordon, passionate about golf but also passionate about performance, human adventures and Brittany, is a pioneer who knows how to combine the dynamics of his company with that of a territory that he likes to show beautiful, lively, attractive, innovative and efficient and knows how to bring resources, ideas and networks to what serves the sporting and general interest.

 A great mobilization around golf

Selected by the PGA European Tour and the French Golf Federation for the quality of the course, the Pléneuf-Val-André stage has become a “classic” on the professional circuit. Support from private and institutional partners, in particular the Brittany region, the Côtes d'Armor department and the town of Pléneuf-Val-André, the involvement of the site team organizers and the mobilization of more than 200 volunteers with the club's sports association also supports the authorities in their choice. Economic, tourist and media vector for a whole region, the event attracts nearly 6 people, spectators, players, guides, partners, media, all the technical staff and friends from the very start who revolve around the Challenge Tour in Brittany.
