After a European victory on their soil in the 2021 edition, the United States will be keen to take their revenge. For the 2023 edition in Spain, the American troops will be led by Stacy Lewis, who will be the youngest captain in the history of the United States.

After being defeated on their soil in Toledo, the United States will be keen to take their revenge during the next edition of the Solheim Cup which will take place in Spain, at Finca Cortesin, from September 22 to 24, 2023.

The European captain had been appointed last fall. It is Suzann Pettersen who succeeds Catriona Matthew and who will try to lift the cup to Europe for a third consecutive time.

Stacy Lewis will captain the United States team in the upcoming Solheim Cup. Iconic player of the LPGA Tour and the American Solheim Cup team, Stacy Lewis arrived on the LPGA Tour in 2009, the year in which she will be crowned rookie of the Year. She has won thirteen titles on the LPGA Tour, including two major tournaments: the Kraft Nabisco in 2011 and the British Open in 2013. She was also world number 1.

Stacy Lewis also said: “I feel the team needs me right now. I knew this would happen at some point in my career. Of course, it's earlier than I thought, but that's fine with me. I feel like it's the right time for Team USA and it's the right time for me to get going."

Aged 36, she will be 38 in 2023 during the event and will be the youngest captain in the history of the American Team in the Solheim Cup. Despite her young age, she was selected four times as a player for two wins in 2015 and 2017. She was also vice-captain in 2019 alongside Juli Inkster and 2021 alongside Pat Hurst in the loss at Toledo .
