Well placed at the start of the second round of The Sentry, world number 1 Scottie Scheffler, recently elected player of the year 2023, plays 64 (-9) on the par 73 of Kapalua to take the sole lead of the tournament with a stroke of ahead of Tyrell Hatton (ENG), Sungjae Im (COR) and Brandon Todd (USA). Scottie Scheffler confirms from the first event of this year 2024, his status as world number 1 and places himself in perfect conditions to fight for victory at the start of the weekend.

The world number 1 is there. After a first round of 66 (-7), Scottie Scheffler scored 64 (-9) to take sole control of The Sentry, the first tournament of 2024 on the PGA Tour. Having started his game with a bogey on hole number 2, the Texan then took matters into his own hands to complete the rest of his game with eight birdies for an eagle. His total of -16 allows him to take a lead at the start of the weekend over his three closest pursuers.

Tyrell Hatton (ENG), Sungjae Im (COR) and Brandon Todd (USA) are in second position at -15, one move behind Scheffler. Tyrell Hatton signs the card of the week with a score of 62 (-11) thanks to a crazy finish with three birdies and an eagle on the last four holes.

Viktor Hovland, defending champion of the FedEx Cup, is in ambush in 5th position, two shots behind Scheffler. This weekend he will try to climb the rankings to win once again on the PGA Tour.

Sahith Theegala, leader of the first round, score 69 (-4) and falls slightly in the ranking to ninth position in this tournament in Hawaii.
