From 20 to 24 September 2O17, the Argentinian artist Pablo Reinoso presents a free and daring installation of 6 painted steel sculptures, from his series of Spaghetti arabesque benches, emblematic of his work and which have propelled his fame internationally, specially designed for the city of Bordeaux, on the Water Mirror.

In keeping with the theme of Landscape chosen by Agora 2017, the Bordeaux architecture, town planning and design biennial (7th edition), Pablo Reinoso imagines the installation L'Observatoire du Ciel in which the public is invited to take their seats. By a play of reflections of the sky on the Water Mirror, Pablo Reinoso operates a visual and poetic reversal of the landscape. An infinite landscape in which physical landmarks are disturbed.

By following the water games induced by the three states of the fountain (water mist, water mirror, vacuum), the installation allows one to escape from the city through the imagination.

At first, the water fog rises, the city disappears. Sitting on the sculpture benches, the public becomes one with the clouds.

Secondly, the fog descends and gives way to the mirror reflecting the sky. The benches then offer a seat inside the blue, a break in the landscape with your feet in the sky.

Finally, the Water Mirror dissipates and reveals the Place de la Bourse.

Initiated in 2006, the Spaghetti bench series takes as its starting point the anonymous design of the slatted public bench. Pablo Reinoso appropriates the object and thus opens the field of possibilities by giving life to the bench which rises beyond the seat and unfolds freely in space.

Elevation is an essential step in Pablo Reinoso's work. Climbing, sprawling and invasive objects, Pablo Reinoso's benches are "tree objects", as Gérard Wajcman writes in the text from the artist's monograph recently published by Editions 5 Continents.
