Numerous investments and improvements to the hotel and club house infrastructure of the Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club have been made under the leadership of its president Jean-Jacques Durand, such as the creation of paths on the course and the purchase of paragliders. In 2011: creation of a handigolf school at the Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club.

In 2012: implementation of a course program for people with disabilities. Six reception centers are participating: the Jacques Calvé Center, the ASCAI, the Résidence des Fontinettes, La Maison de Pierre, the IME of Longuenesse and the FAM of Calonne-Ricouart. In 2013: organization of a training course and a France / England “Golf HandicUP” match.

In 2014: the Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club received the French Handigolf Open for the first time, a commitment for 5 years was signed with the French Golf Federation. "Because disability can affect all of us, changing our outlook contributes to the well-being of the disabled person, their entourage and more, our whole society". underlined Jean-Jacques Duran.

Indeed, Mathieu Cauneau, following a very good 2014 season, reaches 1st place in the European Handigolf ranking.
