“In Nombrer les étoiles, dance and music are intrinsically linked, the two mediums develop the same structures of compositions. The movement is made up of musical notation signs. The graphic data of the scores are recycled and reprocessed, the bodies of the dancers become the emanation of the moods, the colors and the affects of the music. Songs of troubadours and finds, compositions by Guillaume de Machaut, Thibaut de Champagne are played and sung live by the medieval music ensemble Alla francesca. A sound creation by Félix Perdreau from these materials and the breaths of the dancers is spatialized on stage and in the audience… ”Extract from Alban Richard's note of intent

One is a violinist and composer, the other a choreographer, both in residence this season at the Théâtre 71. Artists without stylistic boundaries and fond of new encounters, they enter the stage with their "guests" like golfers on the practice. At their disposal a space to inhabit and dress up with their art. The rule of the game: listen to others to invent a spontaneous dialogue between music and dance. On the basis of reciprocal improvisations, dancers and musicians write live a plot nourished by the inspiration of the other, in which each one lets his language soak up sounds, breaths, rhythms, movements. Together they question: what happens when the sound and the gesture neither emerge from the musician on one side and from the dancer on the other? Together they experiment: how to compose four by supporting each other, confronting each other, surprising each other? The spectator becomes an accomplice of their imagination and of the energy of the moment, as close as possible to the process of creation.
