Nelly Korda said she was in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on Friday for a photo shoot for an appearance in a commercial. After training in the morning, the American noticed swelling in her arm. On the advice of her doctor, she went to the emergency room, where the diagnosis was made.

The LPGA Tour has taken place for the past two weeks in Asia, but Nelly Korda stayed home, she was due to participate in the JTBC Classic in Carlsbad, California, in preparation for the first major women's tournament of the year, as well as at the Chevron Championship in Mission Hills. These two events will take place two weeks in a row at the end of March. Korda's status for either of these events is unclear at this point.

Nelly Korda has appeared in the first three events of the 2022 LPGA season, finishing in the top 20 each time. His best finish was a T-4 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.
