After a solid first day, Matthieu Pavon offered a nice reaction on the Waialae Country Club course. With a difficult start to the game and three bogeys, the Bordeaux player recovered well to sign five birdies on his last five holes and a card of 66 (-4). He is fourth, one stroke behind the leading trio of Carl Yuan (CHI), Austin Eckroat (USA) and Byeong Hun An (COR). Martin Trainer, also entered in this event in Hawaii, narrowly passed the Cut thanks to a good card of 67 (-3) on his second round.

First event as a member of the PGA Tour for Matthieu Pavon and first Cut passed, and in what way! After a first card of 66 (-4) in Honolulu, Matthieu Pavon repeated his performance in the second round with a new card of 66 (-4). However, he got off to a bad start at the start of the course with three bogeys on his first six holes, Pavon closed his first leg with a birdie at 9 followed by another at 10, to then finish his game with five birdies on his last five holes, a late game which recalls his last round of the DP World Tour Championship which allowed him to secure his right to play on the PGA Tour.

With a total of -8, the winner of the 2023 Spanish Open easily passes the Cut and places fourth, one stroke behind the leaders. At -9, it is the trio of Carl Yuan (CHI), Austin Eckroat (USA) and Byeong Hun An (COR) who lead the field of players at the start of the weekend.

Martin Trainer, after a first round above par, score 67 (-3) to narrowly pass the Cut. He is 65th at -2 total and is only seven shots from the top of the ranking, a very tight ranking.

Paul Barjon does not make the Cut.
