The Aramco Team Series will take place in New York, London, Singapore and King Abdullah Economic City (near Jeddah), with each tournament having a $ 1 million fund.

The investment of Aramco, as a main sponsor, together with that of Golf Saudi and the support of other Saudi partners make Saudi Arabia one of the largest funders of women's game in Europe today. . This series is a significant step forward for Saudi and women's sport, and follows the immense success of the Aramco Saudi Ladies International, presented by the Public Investment Fund, at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in Saudi Arabia in November 2020.

His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, President of the Saudi Golf Federation and Saudi Golf, said “This is fantastic news for global sport, for women's golf and for Saudi Arabia. Following the success of Aramco Saudi Ladies International, we are committed to developing the female game and promoting the participation of women in sport in Saudi Arabia. I hope this series will inspire people from all cultures and backgrounds to play the sport and build enthusiasm for the great game of golf. "

The first of four tournaments will take place in New York, followed by another in London and Singapore, before culminating with a season finale at the Royal Greens and Country Club in Jeddah.

Ahmed A. Al-Subaey, Aramco's vice president for marketing, sales and supply planning, said “Aramco was instrumental in bringing golf to Saudi Arabia and, through our support for women's golf, we aim to advance gender equality and lay the groundwork for future generations of sportswomen. It's another example of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, which is reflected in our many talented employees, scientists and engineers. Our sponsorship of this golf event series will not only raise awareness around the world of our contribution in this area, but it will also help promote the positive values associated with the sport to communities in Saudi Arabia and around the world. "

The four Aramco-sponsored tournaments will form an important part of LET's record-breaking schedule, which is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Teams of four will participate in these tournaments, each playing 54 holes. The Captains will recruit another professional from the Tour through a draft system similar to that of the NFL and NBA. Another Tour player will be chosen at random, while all teams will include an amateur player. The prize money for the winning team will be shared between the three players.

Alexandra Armas, Managing Director of the Ladies European Tour, said “Today marks the start of a new stage in the history of the Ladies European Tour. This all new Aramco Team Series takes golf and sport to a whole new level and I am incredibly excited about these four events. Last November, LET made history by hosting the first-ever women's professional golf tournament in Saudi Arabia, and this announcement only reinforces that success. By adding four new team events to our 2021 schedule, the Ladies European Tour will add a whole new dynamic for both competitive players and spectators, bringing golf to newly engaged audiences around the world. "

The Aramco Team Series picks up where last November's team event left off, being the circuit's first-ever regular event where dozens of female amateur competitors have a direct influence on the final result.
