Kauri cliffs

In the far north of New Zealand, in the region of "Bay of Islands", on its immense property surrounded by a pink sand beach with a view of a rosary of ™ Élots, the patron of golf, Julian Robertson, created his first achievement in the land of the All Blacks and Kiwis: Kauri Cliffs.

Unforgettable golf in an exceptional environment with a panorama of strings of islands which immediately recall the environment of the Lord of the Rings, filmed in New Zealand.

Here, all the holes are beautiful and no fault was committed by the architect Floridien, who made 28 return trips from the USA to follow the progress of the works.

The result is up to expectations and hopes and from the start of the 1, this superb par 4 which plunges towards the pink sand beach, we take "full eyes"!

If the wind blows, Kauri Cliffs becomes formidable, and par 3 n ° 13 is aptly named "Boomerang"; if the ball is not compressed enough it will come back a few meters from your tee off!

A great experience to spend a moment at Kauri Cliffs where the lodge with irreproachable service will only prolong happiness; and if you've come from so far, combine your visit with the other property of Julian Robertson, Cape Kidnappers; helicopter connections are proposed between the two master pieces of this beautiful collection.

Cape Kidnappers

Would Cape Kidnappers be the most spectacular course in the world?

It is quite possible, especially when you look at the superb aerial views that have gone around the world.

To succeed in creating this masterpiece perched on the top of the cliffs of several hundred meters in height, the American billionaire, Julian Robertson, was forced to trace in the rock an 8 kilometer road to access the plateau, where one of the most beautiful golf days of your life will take place.

The first time I had the privilege of going to Cape Kidnappers, I remember having played golf, alone in the world, at the end of the day; I was stopped on each hole to admire the exceptional panorama and the perfect integration of the golf course.

On my second visit, clubs in hand, I took advantage of each stroke made and told myself that golf had given me an unforgettable day; this route gives an impression of unlimited space with breathtaking panoramas over the ocean and over the expanses of meadows where hundreds of sheep graze quietly.

With such an environment, it is not obvious to focus on your game, but what does it matter, it is so exceptional!

So even if it is the antipodes of Europe and that 24 hours of travel are essential to reach the magic cliffs of Cape Kidnappers, whatever, discover this exceptional course well deserves this effort very quickly rewarded with pure pleasure!

Old head

On the south coast of Ireland, next to the small town of Kinsale and less than 30 minutes from Cork Airport, OLD HEAD is certainly one of the most most spectacular in the world; as it is shared with Cape Kidnappers, Pinnacle Point, Cypress Point - all while being an hour and thirty minutes flight from Paris!

When I discovered OLD HEAD, I immediately regretted that I hadn't been there earlier, even though this course has existed since 1999!

Imagined and created by an Irishman on a former 200 hectare agricultural property on the top of the cliffs, Old Head quickly became "THE CLUB" of the Americans of Ireland!

A great success for this exceptional course which is only open from April to October and benefits from first-rate maintenance and service. A real must for all golfers who are particularly sensitive to the environment, to the breathtaking landscapes and the calm of a totally unforgettable little drink of the world.
