The 2016 Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) will take the best players in the region to one of the most prestigious courses in the Caribbean. Designed by Pete Dye and built in the early 70s, Teeth of the Dog at Casa de Campo has seven holes that border the ocean and is at the top of the ranking of the best courses in Latin America. Organized by the Masters Tournament, The R&A, and the United States Golf Association (USGA), LAAC was established to further develop amateur golf throughout the region, and particularly in South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. "It is a great honor for us to have been selected to host this prestigious championship", says Rafael Torres, President of Casa de Campo. "We are pleased that the selection committee deemed it appropriate to organize the LAAC on the legendary Teeth of the Dog, considered the best course in the region". The Dominican Republic is therefore one of the main tourist destinations for golf.
