PING presented last January the new G430 range, this new G430 series is designed to meet the needs of golfers of all levels looking for precision, distance offering an unprecedented level of tolerance.

Ping's new G430 range innovates for even more precision and tolerance

The custom-designed G430 line offers three driver models (MAX, LST, SFT), three fairway woods (MAX, LST, SFT) in multiple lofts, six hybrids as well as a series of irons (4-9, PW, 45.5°, 50°, 54°, 58°). For golfers with slower swing speeds, all clubs except the LST driver can be designed with lighter weights, the ultralight PING ALTA Quick shaft and a lighter grip as part of the option G430 HL (High Launch).

« The distance gains across the entire G430 range are unlike any other previously known evolution,” said John K. Solheim, President of PING. “Our approach with the G430 has been to find more speed and deliver it in a way that helps you score lower and have more fun on the course. This includes a level of tolerance that remains unmatched. The combination of distance and forgiveness is beneficial when golfers are properly equipped. We see this every day in our research and are excited to put the G430 in the hands of golfers so they can experience the same benefits.” “Usage by pros on the tour in the first week has been outstanding with nearly 30 drivers in play and multiple wins worldwide since launch. Our players love the increased ball speed as well as the sound of the driver and fairway woods. They see 2-4 mph gains in ball speed from the driver, which even the best players in the world see with their new clubs. »

The new G430 Drivers

Regarding the new drivers, PING engineers have developed several new technologies common to all three models while applying specific advances to each head. They produce significant gains in ball speed with improved sound across the range. The increased ball speed comes from the shallower, thinner VFT forged face engineered with Spinsistency, a variable clubface curvature technology used on fairway woods and G425 hybrids. The sound improvement is the result of working on the frequencies of the head thanks to a new internal structure.

G430 irons

This multi-material iron offers distance gains of approximately 6-9 yards and improved accuracy across the series. It's the result of a complex design that combines a lower CG with tighter lofts. Engineered with a thinner face, the G430 irons deliver up to 2 mph of extra ball speed for significant distance gains without compromising famous PING forgiveness. The PurFlex Cavity Badge is an innovation with seven flex zones that allows freer flex to increase ball speed across the face. It is a key element to gain distance. In combination with the lower CG, the badge provides a solid feel and a pleasing sound at impact.

G430 fairway wood

We've used Carbonfly Wrap technology on all G430 fairway woods to deliver more distance by positioning the CG closer to the ley line and maximizing ball speed. This translates to balls that go higher and farther whether it's the MAX, SFT or LST model. The carbon crown extends from the heel to the toe of the sole, lowering the ten gram weight that is redistributed into the head for lower CG and increased ball speed. On top of that, carbon also plays a role in achieving a nice, solid sound.

An adjustable tungsten weight allows for better weight distribution to ensure more forgiveness. Two iconic PING technologies used on the previous generation are reused and contribute to distance gains and spin consistency across the clubface. With FaceWrap technology, a high-strength, variable-thickness maraging steel face spans the sole as well as the head. This will generate more flex for increased ball speed as well as higher launch for more distance. Spinsistency Variable Curvature improves performance off the clubface especially on shots hit low on the face, reducing spin to increase ball speed off the clubface.

G430 Hybrids

The new G430 hybrids incorporate Carbonfly Wrap technology, which provides increased distance and improved ball stopability on the green. Proven Facewrap and Spinsistency technologies deliver the speed and performance needed to attack the greens. With six loft options, these hybrids are an ideal alternative to mid irons and long irons, helping players close distance gaps between clubs.

The adjustable hosel offers eight positions to adjust loft and lie, optimizing ball flight and results. Carbonfly Wrap technology reduces crown weight by eight grams compared to steel, allowing that weight to be shifted toward the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity and increasing ball speed. In addition, carbon also plays a role in achieving a pleasant sound. The high-strength, variable-thickness maraging steel face extends across the sole and head, allowing for increased flex for superior ball speed.

Spinsistency Variable Curvature improves performance, especially on shots hit low on the face, reducing spin and increasing ball speed. An adjustable tungsten weight provides better weight distribution for greater forgiveness. PING's hybrids are growing in popularity and have become one of the brand's most successful categories. They are considered alternatives to mid irons and long irons. With the G430 hybrids providing extra distance, this offers yet another reason to choose a PING hybrid.
