This Saturday, June 5, when there were only 73 players left after the cut (+9), the Evian Resort Golf Club witnessed a superb show during the 3rd and last round of the Jabra Ladies Open 2021. A final round to the rhythm of a merciless fight, then a breathless playoff between Annabel Dimmock and Pia Babnik.

Starting in the penultimate game with a score of –3 (69/70) with a double buggy on hole 1, Pia Babnik played the first leg two strokes over par. On the return, she managed to reverse the trend with three birdies on 10, 17 and 18. She finished her third round with a score card of 3 (-70) for a total of -1.

In the last part, Annabel Dimmock, at -3 at the start of the 18th, relied on her little game to land a birdie and at the same time grab the playoff. Just like the 2019 champion, Pia Babnik was well acquainted with the host course of the Jabra Ladies Open: she took part in 2015 and 2016 in The Evian Juniors Cup, a competition of The Amundi Evian Championship which brings together the world's best amateurs of less than 14 years old on the course of the only Major in Continental Europe.

In the playoff, Pia Babnik takes the lead by entering a putt for birdie. Under pressure, the English passed a few inches from the hole on a 2.5-meter putt, scoring only one par, synonymous with defeat. Pia Babnik thus won, and with style, the first victory of her young career on the Ladies European Tour.

Thanks to this victory at the Jabra Ladies Open, a tournament sanctioned by the LET, Pia Babik offers herself a major double qualification - for The Amundi Evian Championship and the AIG Women's British Open 2021 - as well as her card to play the LET 2022. “I'm really happy, it's an extraordinary moment for me,” enthuses the winner. A native of Ljubjana, the Slovenian champion who has been playing golf since she was 3, turned pro at 16, said she would one day be "the world number 1"

Tricolor side  Anne-Lise Caudal the best Frenchwoman with a solid 69 this Saturday finished in the top 10 in 6th position (-1). Agathe Sauzon and Camille Chevalier finished 15th at +3 and 23rd at +5 respectively.
