Israel: when ancient Caesarea goes green
Recently, the ancient Caesarea built by Herod the Great brings together golf enthusiasts from all over the world, whether amateurs or professionals.

Caesarea, port city built by Herod the Great (73-4 BC), is mainly known for its ancient treasures. The city is, in fact, one of the major tourist sites of Israel. More than one million tourists fond of history visit it every year. But recently, the destination has brought together golf enthusiasts from all over the world, whether amateurs or professionals.
Indeed, the Caesarea golf club is located in the heart of a nature reserve facing the sea. The prestigious Caesarea course, created in the 1960s by the family of Baron de Rothschild, is the only international golf club Israel.
The new courses, inaugurated in 2009, with a length of 6750 meters of well-kept green lawns, were designed according to the philosophy developed by Pete Dye, one of the main golf course architects on the planet, comprising the alliance of several surfaces from Tee.
This philosophy makes each hole a challenge for the best players, however, even beginners and intermediate golfers can take advantage of it. The club has two 18-hole courses meeting international standards and a PAR 3 course with 9 holes.
A luxurious establishment, it rivals the best international golf clubs with 81 training holes. Best of all, the club has some of Israel's most renowned professional golf coaches, a golf academy and school for children, a Golf Shop for sports equipment, and a gourmet restaurant.

Additional proof that Caesarea is now a flagship destination for all fans of this sport.
The city hosted the first professional golf tournament in Israel in late October, the Edmond de Rothschild Master Tour.
An event which was a real success according to the general opinion of the participants who came - for the most part - for the first time to Israel. This type of event represents a wonderful opportunity to discover the country in a different way.
The discipline drains, in fact, a high-quality tourism because true golf enthusiasts very often choose their vacation spots according to the presence of a course.
