Magnificent 1th century Italian palace, Villa Pliniana is located in the village of Torno less than 2016 km from Il Sereno Lake Como (opening scheduled for early July 19). With its XNUMX rooms, its luxurious meeting spaces and its vast gardens, Villa Pliniana is ideal for the organization of sumptuous "Italian" weddings or other events.

A design by Patricia Urquiola

As with Il Sereno Lac de Como, it is the famous architect and designer Patricia Urquiola - who is among the most talented designers of her generation (Designer of the year 2006 and 2015 award according to the magazine Wallpaper) - that the renovation of certain interior spaces was entrusted. These will be unveiled to the general public this fall. While retaining their charm and history, the buildings have been completely restored to meet the highest standards of a modern hotel. Thus, the decoration of the XXIst century blends harmoniously with the classic frescoes, woodwork, terrazzo and fireplaces. One of the most original pieces in the villa is undoubtedly the piano that Gioachino Rossini used to compose his famous Opera Tancredi in 1813.

4 villas on the shores of Lake Como

The 19 luxurious rooms - which can accommodate 39 guests - are divided into 4 villas: Villa Pliniana which houses four large apartments and 3 individual villas (Casa Shelley, Casa dei Plini, Rifugio da Vinci). The main Villa's two spacious ballrooms are suitable for events of up to 200 people. In addition, the 7 hectares of gardens overlooking Lake Como are perfect for organizing weddings for up to 500 guests. Two large meeting rooms, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen for catering services, a reception hall and a billiard room complete the multifunction space. Each of the hotel's villas offers breathtaking views of Lake Como and is equipped with the latest technology.

Note that Villa Pliniana also has a spa with a large swimming pool, a jacuzzi, rain showers, a sauna, a Turkish bath, a solarium and a lounge mezzanine for relaxation.

Thanks to its own quay, the hotel is accessible by boat, ferry and maritime shuttle (signed Riva) specific to Il Sereno. The hotel's helipad provides easy connections to Milan or other major airports. Guests can of course reach the hotel by car and have ample parking on the property.

For the record, Villa Pliniana is ideally located just 8 km from Como and 60 km from Milan airport.

A place steeped in history

Like other Sereno hotels, Villa Pliniana highlights the site in which it is located and develops an elaborate sense of design. Its name comes from the Roman writer and naturalist, Pliny the Elder, the first to have mentioned the site of the Villa in the first century AD. Subsequently, several naturalists and intellectuals, notably Leonardo da Vinci, wrote on the source Pliniana . It was Count Giovanni Anguissola who chose the location and built the Villa Pliniana in 1573. Over the centuries, many artists, scientists and monarchs such as Lord Byron or Napoleon, visited the site appreciated for its magnificent panorama.

The Group's Managing Director, Samy Ghachem, oversees the entire property portfolio and will ensure that guests receive the personalized service specific to Sereno Hotels. Everything will also be done so that the hotels on Lake Como can, like their little brother Le Sereno Saint Barth, host the most prestigious events.
