He expected to leave for the Minnesota event on Saturday morning, but instead, he underwent a rapid test for the coronavirus and learned Friday night that he was a carrier of the virus. He retired on Monday and was replaced in the 3M Open field by Brendon de Jonge.

"I will isolate myself at home and follow the guidelines of the PGA Tour so that I can resume the courses as soon as possible", wrote Grayson Murray. “If I was around you last week and you start to have symptoms, go get tested! "

Grayson Murray captured just one PGA Tour victory at the 2017 Barbasol Championship. The 26-year-old regained his card last year in the Korn Ferry Tour final and finished in the top 10 this season, having finished Tied 10th at The American Express in January. He has played four times since returning from the Tour break, missing two cuts and retiring twice. His last appearance was at the Workday Charity Open two weeks ago, when he retired in the second round with a lower back injury.

Grayson Murray becomes the seventh PGA Tour player to test positive for COVID-19, and the first since Chad Campbell retired from the Rocket Mortgage Classic on June 30. Other Tour players who have tested positive include Nick Watney, Cameron Champ, Denny McCarthy, Dylan Frittelli and Harris English.
