Georgia Hall had a flawless return nine at Bearwood Lakes to win her first Justin Rose Ladies Series title. The 2018 Women's British Open champion clocked a 71 (-1) round to complete a stroke in front of six other players and climb to second place in the American Golf Order of Merit, just behind Charley Hull.

Georgia Hall bounced off two bogeys on her first four holes with a pair of birdies on the fifth and eighth, but lost another shot in the ninth par-3 to finish at 37 (+1).

The Solheim Cup star then birdied the 11th par-5 and 13th par-4 for a return nine of 34 (-2).

The 24-year-old, from Parkstone to Poole, said after the fact “It's great to have won. I've played in three events already and came in second three times so I'm very happy to win and get the job done today. "

“I didn't start very well. I got to 2 after four or five holes, but I was very patient and calm so I think that was my main focus for today. Out of the returning nines I had three or four putts that were about 2,5m from the par and the flags were really hard today so I hit a lot of good putts which was good. "

“The length of the course was quite short and the greens speeds were the fastest we've had so far. Some flag positions were extremely difficult, which is the main cause that kept the scores from dropping. "

While Hull has played all six of the Rose Ladies Series, Georgia Hall has now played four, at Buckinghamshire, Royal St. George's, JCB Golf and Country Club and Bearwood Lakes over the past month. She thanked Justin and Kate Rose for supporting women's golf.

“The Rose Ladies Series are fantastic and give me something to practice every week. It's something to aim for and it's good that all of our players can play competitive games every week and it's a good warm-up for the Scots and Brits ”, she said.

“It was very kind of Kate and Justin to do this. All the work they have done is fantastic and we hope this series can continue for years to come. "

“It prepared me as best as possible when I returned to the courses. It was obviously difficult after the Covid, but playing in competition can only improve my game. "
