The French Emilie Piquot (2e at -2) and Émilie Alonso (9e at -1) are among the 14 players out of 120 to have scored under par, yesterday at the Manga Club, during the 1er round of the final of the European maps.

European maps final: good day for both Émilie

Emilie Piquot yesterday at La Manga. @ Tristan Jones

The Manga Club greenkeepers did a good job. Storm Gloria caused serious damage earlier this week in the Cartagena region in south-eastern Spain, uprooting nearly 150 trees. The first round of the European cards final could still take place as planned yesterday, on the north and south courses of the golf resort. It was the Swiss Morgane Metreaux who signed the best score with a 68 (-3). Which says a lot about the difficulty of the playing conditions, only 14 golfers out of the 120 entered, having scored under par. Among them, the French Émilie Piquot -2) and Émilie Alonso (-1). They are a total of 14 Tricolors to try their luck this week.

Remember that after 5 laps and a cut after 72 holes, the top 5 will be eligible for a card on the LET in category 5c. The players between the 6e and 20e place will join category 8a. Beyond that, the 60 players (and tied) who will pass the cut will enter category 9b, in the order of their final classification. Those who will be eliminated at the end of the cut will enter category 12a, according to their final classification.
