A well-deserved victory

The Spanish Jordi GARCIA PINTO, leading the tournament since the second round, today wins the 18th edition of the Najeti Hotels and Golfs Open with a total of 277 (-7).

Jordi GARCIA PINTO said “It was a fantastic ending. What made the difference today is that I didn't make a single bogey, 17 Pars and 1 birdie. I am very happy to win this Open, I will continue to do my best in the weeks to come. I wanted to wait for the right time to play the European Circuit, my time has arrived ”.

The shy 24-year-old Catalan won his first professional tournament in 2013 in Kenya. He arrived in St Omer at the top of the Challenge Tour Ranking thanks to a 3rd place in Portugal and a 2nd place in Spain. He retains his label of best player on the circuit and will play next year on the big European Circuit.

Another Spaniard in second place, Carlos AGUILAR at -4: “It was a very good day, I am very happy for my friend Jordi and delighted to finish second. I did my best and I will continue ”.

The fight started at hole 11: Thanks to 4 birdies, the Italian Lorenzo GAGLI joined GARCIA PINTO at the top of the leaderboard tied at -6. But Garcia Pinto does not let himself be disturbed, birdie at 11, he takes the lead at -7.

Behind, Lloyd KENNEDY (Eng), Carlos AGUILAR (Esp) and Tain LEE (USA) are at -4 and Baptiste CHAPELLAN (Fra) at -3 alongside Chilean Mark TULLO who finished his course with 67 (-3).
