Jin Young Ko led from start to finish on Sunday in the Cognizant Founders Cup, with her 14th consecutive lap in the 60s (63, 68, 69 and 66), tying the record held by Annika Sorenstam for 16 years. .

In constant rain at Mountain Ridge, the 26-year-old South Korean star made it look easy. She concluded with a score of 66 (-5) for a victory by four strokes ahead of Germany's Caroline Masson.

Ko started the final lap with a four-stroke lead and no one came within three strokes all day. The tournament was practically over, it only remained to know how it was going to end. Ko birdied four in five holes in the middle of the last nine and finished with a 266 (-18) card.

This is his 14th consecutive round in the 60s, since a 69 in the last round of the Evian Championship. It equals the record set by Sorenstam in the middle of its season of 10 wins in 2005.

Sorenstam has won three of four tournaments in this streak of 14 consecutive rounds in the 60s, including a major. Ko has won twice and was tied for second and sixth in the other majors.

Ko joined Nelly Korda as the only three-time winner on the LPGA Tour this season, and she became the fifth South Korean with at least 10 wins, still far from the record of 25 held by trailblazer Se Ri Pak.

A week after her victory in Atlantic City, Céline Boutier completed the Cognizant Founders Cup in 19th place which was still satisfactory. After three low-key first rounds played in 70, 70 and 71 on the par 71 of the Mountain Ridge Country Club, the now two-time winner on the LPGA Tour concluded her week by returning her best card, a 68 (-3) comprising five birdies and two bogeys. This good last lap allowed him to gain 16 ranks to climb into the top 20 final, 19th at -5 overall.

Disappointment on the other hand for Perrine Delacour, 6th at the start this Sunday morning, and 33rd at the finish after a heavy 75 (+4) without the slightest birdie on the horizon ...
