France Télévisions and Discovery welcome the exceptional and strategic partnership signed by Delphine Ernotte Cunci, President of France Télévisions, and Jean-Briac Perrette, President and CEO of Discovery International, in the presence of Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 organizing committee, with a view to broadcasting the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022 and Paris in 2024.

Paris 2024 (July 26 to August 11, 2024) will be the first Summer Games organized by France for a century, bringing together 32 sports disciplines and as many events at the 39 sites chosen in the region.

Within the framework of this agreement, Discovery grants the exclusivity of the audiovisual rights in clear and in direct to the public group France Télévisions *, the paying rights remaining its property for a direct exploitation and in full on Eurosport.

This complementary offer will thus allow viewers and all audiences to experience the Games passionately, at any time, thanks to exhaustive broadcasting. France Télévisions, the largest sports field and historic television partner of the Olympic Games, will offer all audiences, free of charge, ambitious and exceptional coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, on its antennas. Thus, France 2 and France 3 will be mobilized and a digital channel will be specially set up for a mobile audience and more specific communities.

The world athletics championships in Doha at the end of 2019 and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 are for public television the first highlights of the original editorial device before the exceptional coverage of the Beijing Olympics in 2022 and the Paris Olympics in 2024.
