A competition in nearly 40 golf courses across France, to help the children of Madagascar.

4th UNICEF Trophy, from March 15 to October 5, 2015Launched on March 26, 2012 and sponsored by Jean Van de Velde, UNICEF France Ambassador, the UNICEF Trophy is a tournament, organized on a national scale, over forty stages, open to licensed golfers, and whose entry fees are donated to UNICEF.

The 4th edition of the UNICEF Trophy takes place this year from March 15 to October 5, in 40 prestigious golf courses throughout France. The funds collected will be directly allocated to a child protection program, aimed at combating violence and exploitation, including sex tourism, in Madagascar.

The choice to help the children of Madagascar is no accident since it is the country where Jean Van de Velde carried out his first field mission, as UNICEF Ambassador, in June 2013. Very marked by this experience, he wanted the UNICEF Trophy to help improve the daily lives of the children he met.

“Schools, nutritional centers, emergency reception centers and child protection centers… All these visits made during this trip to Madagascar, allowed me to discover, in a very concrete way, what the teams of UNICEF are doing on the ground to help children. Being involved, talking with people, seeing how we can help them and what we are going to do, being part of an evolution, it's really very motivating ”, he declared then.

Accessible to everyone, with a registration fee of € 15 minimum, entirely donated to UNICEF France, the UNICEF Trophy competitions attract more and more players from year to year. Since 2012, they have raised more than 125 euros to help vulnerable children in Sri Lanka and Madagascar.

“Seeing UNICEF's work on the ground convinced me that the crux of the war is raising funds. I hope that this 4th edition will raise awareness among an ever-increasing public about the cause of children and that the collection will increase again this year to build a better future and protect children in Madagascar, " He explains.
