On the sidelines of the Ryder Cup 2018, the Sports Department of the University of Versailles St-Quentin-en Yvelines (UVSQ) organized the Younger's Cup, an international university golf competition that took place on September 19 and 20 in Isabella Golf (Plaisir 78) and Golf de Jardy (Vaucresson 92).

It saw two very good teams compete against each other, made up of 14 students and high school students from Ile-de-France: a French selection against a foreign selection. 7 nationalities were represented (France, England, Belgium, Japan, Luxembourg, Sweden, Switzerland).

The sports ranking, which focused on the net average of each team, was enhanced by a quiz in which the teams answered questions about the history of the Ryder Cup. At the end of Isabella's course, the foreign selection led by one point. The players wearing the red polo shirt then confirmed their lead on the Jardy course, with a net average of 33,58 points against 32,49 for the French selection, in blue polo.

The victory trophy, created by Hubert Privé, was presented to Captain Alexandra Van de Velde by Alain Bui, President of the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en Yvelines.

This first edition of the Younger's Cup took place in a spirit faithful to the Ryder Cup: fair play and a friendly spirit reigned throughout the two days, accompanied by summer weather! The professionalism of the Isabella and Jardy golf teams contributed to the success of this beautiful event which ended in a festive student atmosphere until late at night.

Several Ile-de-France establishments had mobilized their students for the occasion: ESCP Paris, the British School of Paris, UVSQ, Université Paris Diderot, AgroParisTech, Université de Créteil, lycées Saint-Augustin de Saint-Germain -en-Laye and Georges Dumézil from Vernon.

The support of the various partners (Departmental Council of Yvelines, University of Paris Saclay, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Golf Magazine, Wilson, Ugolf, Baron Philippe de Rotschild and the city of Guyancourt) has made it possible to generously reward all the participants who are waiting looking forward to the next edition.
