Behind the walls, in empty spaces, between the sides of Toile de Jouy torn off, two artists imagine and build the new era of Normandy. Alexandre Danan and Nathalie Ryan, a man and a woman at the heart of the transformation of this legendary hotel.

Nathalie Ryan, interior designer and decorator, was the architectural director of Maison Dior for over 10 years. KIREI STUDIO, his agency, specializes in decoration in hotels and restaurants, shops and very high-end private residences, in France and the United States. She began her collaboration with the Group in 2010, when she created the Dior Suite at the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes: 400 square meters of elegance and French art de vivre, in the finest and most precious materials. precious materials. For Le Normandy, it is the same finesse that motivates it: respecting and preserving the historic soul of buildings, with their codes, their characters, by infusing a contemporary decor. Family-run, the birthplace of the Group has welcomed generations and generations of customers: grandparents welcome their children and grandchildren. Preserving what made the history and the memory of the walls is at the heart of Nathalie Ryan's work. In charge of the decoration of the rooms and the corridors of the hotel, she resuscitates with talent the soul of this historic building.

The toile de Jouy will be modernized and available in harmonious colors, according to the Rooms: green, beige, orange, blue and red. A classicism which is nevertheless spiced up with a few contemporary touches, with light, plain or structured weaves that will adorn the furniture specially created by Nathalie Ryan White stones, silver mosaics and mahogany washbasins will also rejuvenate the bathrooms. bath, for ideal moments of relaxation.

In 2015, Nathalie Ryan had in the first phase already decorated for the Normandy the Anouck Aimée Suite which later became “A man and a woman” with the motifs of the original toile de Jouy from Claude Lelouch's film but stylized for the occasion for blend in with the special atmosphere of the film, the Presidential Suite with its magnificent terrace, as well as 76 Rooms.

Designer and complete artist, Alexandre Danan created his Interior Architecture Agency in 2000. Specialized in the creation of upscale hotel establishments, he is in constant search of quality in the service of hoteliers and their particular problem. He has worked alongside independent hoteliers or for prestigious and demanding hotel brands in France and abroad.

At Normandy, he is in charge of renovating La Belle Epoque, the restaurant at the heart of the hotel. To reinvent this place, to rediscover the splendor of the past by adding resolutely contemporary touches, he relies on subtlety and simplicity. A refined design, a more discreet luxury, a magnified architecture, simplified movements and more intimate spaces that do not disturb the conviviality of the place are all challenges that Alexandre Danan wishes to take up.

The magnificent glass roof, a major asset of the restaurant, will thus be further enhanced in order to accompany and amplify the impression of direct communication between the interior and the exterior. The textiles will be removed to reveal the elegant wood of the time. Bright furniture and armchairs will contribute to the comfort and clarity of this space. On the floor, a large custom-created mosaic will use the codes and colors of the new Barrière against a backdrop of Naïade Belle Époque. Alexandre Danan's ambition: to rewrite the relationship between host and hotelier in a neat, honest and authentic way combining design, sense of volume and play of colors and materials.

The Hotel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville will reopen its doors in April 2016, magnified, refined, renovated, but still authentic, imperishable.
