The Evian Championship strengthens its sports policy with the launch, after the European Qualifications, of two new international selection events in the United States and in Korea.

New opportunities for golfers around the world, these events offering 5 places in the prestigious plateau du Majeur.

After the selection of Maria Verchenova and Nanna Koertz Madsen during the European Qualifications, the United States Qualifications offered a passport for the Evian Championship to Laura Gonzalez Escallon and Ally McDonald (final ranking on www.symetratour.com).

Third and final stage, the Korea Qualifiers start on July 27.

The Belgian Laura Gonzalez Escallon (25 years old) and the American Ally McDonald (23 years old, respectively winner and 2nd of the Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship on the Symetra Tour, won their qualification for the Evian Championship 2016.

Impressive during this tournament reduced to 36 holes by the storm, Laura Gonzales won in 129 (-15) with a last lap in 64 (-8), a new course record. The young player, crowned “the Big Ten player of the year” by her University of Purue in 2012, on the Symetra Tour since 2014, is the first Belgian to win a tournament on this American circuit, a springboard for the LPGA Tour. A victory which opens the doors to the Evian Championship.

On this ranking, Ally McDonald, figure, in 2nd position. The young American “rookie” this year will also be present at the Evian Championship in September. The first player to win the Mississippi boys' championship, Ally won the Michigan Open Championship, her first tournament as a professional last summer.
