The 2023 Solheim Cup is launched in Spain and after the first day of the event, it is Team USA which takes the lead 5-3 on the Andalusian course. The Americans hit hard from the start of the event with a 4-0 lead in the morning foursomes games. Céline Boutier associated with Georgia Hall, was defeated by Danielle Kang and Andrea Lee at hole 18: 1 down.

Boutier did not play in the afternoon games but her teammates were able to raise the bar in the four-ball best ball matches since with two matches won, for two draws, the Europeans are back at 5-3 after the first day.

The highlight of this Solheim Cup day was signed by Emily Kristine Pedersen who scored a hole in 1 on the par 3 of the 12th. This perfect shot was very useful to the Danish player since her opponents had planted the flag. Associated with the Swede Maja Stark, Pedersen finally snatched the draw.

See you tomorrow for the second day of doubles, where the European team will have a lot to do to avoid finding themselves left behind at the dawn of the singles matches. Céline Boutier will play with the same partner in her morning match.
