This Monday, February 5, Laura FLESSEL, Minister of Sports, and Marlène SCHIAPPA, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister responsible for Equality between women and men, held a press conference with Olivier SCHRAMECK, President of the Superior Council audiovisual (CSA), on the theme of media coverage of female sport. This meeting was in particular the occasion to evoke the operation “Always feminine sport” which is in line with the 4 seasons of feminine sport.

Developing women's sport means combating the stereotypes and discriminations that persist towards girls and women in this area. But it is also a question of organization, different offers of sport and physical activity. This implies in particular to initiate a reflection on the mediatization of female sport.

In a few years, the proportion of airtime devoted to the broadcasting of women's sports competitions has increased significantly.

The operation “Always feminine sport”, in partnership with the Superior council of the audio-visual one which will take place next February 10 and 11, is part of this dynamic. The first concrete action emanating from the Standing Conference on Women's Sport, it was a highlight in the media coverage of women's sport, aiming to involve a large part of the audiovisual media throughout the metropolitan and overseas territories.

Allison Pineau, 2017 Handball World Champion and sponsor of the operation was present at the event.

The President of the Republic has set an ambitious goal: to increase the number of people practicing physical and sporting activity by 3 million by 2022. To achieve this, the development of women's sport is a major focus.
