"We first got to know Moe through my father (Walter) who was his great friend and who constantly shared incredible stories about this larger than life character"the Gretzkys said in a press release. “Moe's true intelligence and simple philosophy of living were often overlooked by his colorful, sometimes tattered clothes, worn shoes and visors, repetitive speech and eccentric demeanor. Her story illustrates one of life's great lessons: staying true to yourself. "

Wayne and Janet's daughter, Paulina, is engaged to 24-time PGA Tour winner and two-time major champion Dustin Johnson.

A self-taught player who never took a lesson, Norman was respected by everyone from Sam Snead to Tiger Woods, who once told longtime golf journalist Jaime Diaz that “Only two players have really owned their swing: Moe Norman and Ben Hogan. "

Moe Norman won the Canadian Amateur Championships in 1955 and 1956, achieved 55 professional victories and was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

David Steinberg and Robyn Todd will be the executive producers of this joint American-Canadian production, which will be cast by Valorie Massalas.

"In these times it is so important to share stories about accepting others and triumphing over adversity"Steinberg and Todd said. "It's a magnificent film, touching and full of heart, about a Canadian outsider, and it must be told".
