The 19th edition of the Solheim Cup takes place this week at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. Teams from the United States and Europe, each comprised of 12 players, will compete over three days of match play. Europe, holders of the trophy after a 14-14 draw in 2023, are aiming for a fourth consecutive victory, while the United States is looking to return to winning ways for the first time since 2017.

Players to watch during the Solheim Cup

Four of the top ten players in the Rolex World Rankings will be present: Nelly korda (n ° 1), Lilia King (n ° 2), Rose Zhang (n ° 9) and Celine Boutier (n°10). Most of them have already participated in several editions of the Solheim cup and will bring valuable experience to their respective teams.

This edition will also see the arrival of new recruits such as Lauren Coughlin (United States), Esther henseleit (Europe), Sarah Schmelzel (United States) and Alban Valenzuela (Europe). Several participants also represented their countries at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, adding an extra dimension to their track record.

– The top six players in the Rolex Rankings world ranking as of August 26: Céline Boutier (FRA), maja stark (SWE), Linn Grant (SWE), Leona maguire (IRL), Charlotte Ciganda (ESP), Madelene Sagstrom (SWE).
– And four invitations from Captain Suzann Pettersen announced on August 26: Georgia hall (ENG), Anna nordqvist (SWE), Emily kristine pedersen (DEN), Alban Valenzuela (COVER)

– The seven best players in the ranking LPGA Solheim Cup to August 26: Nelly korda, Lilia King, Lauren Coughlin, Ally Ewing, Allisen Corpuz, Megan khang, Andrea Lee.
– The two best players in  Rolex Rankings to August 26: Rose Zhang, Alison lee.
– And three invitations from the captain Stacy lewis announced on August 27: Jennifer kupcho, Sarah Schmelzel, Lexi thompson.
