The year 2022 of the PGA Tour starts like every year with the famous tournament of champions. The Sentry Tournament of Champions will be played from January 6 to 9 at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii.

Winner in 2021 of the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Harris English will try to defend his title from January 6 to 9, 2022 in Kapalua. As every year, the PGA Tour returns to service after the end of the year holidays on the occasion of the Champions Tournament, bringing together the winners of tournaments of the year 2021 on four rounds without Cut.

This 2022 edition of the Sentry Tournament of Champions will be one of the editions with the strongest field of players: four former winners of the FedEx Cup, 23 of the 30 finalists at East Lake in 2021, the Olympic champion Xander Sc Chaudele as well as 8 top players. 10 worldwide.

The winners of the 2021 season will compete on the superb Kapalua golf course located between mountain and valley in a paradisiacal setting. Kapalua is the only par 73 on the PGA Tour calendar, owning only three par 3. The course designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore often offers very low scores as six of the last seven winners have played at least -21. It will obviously be necessary to make birdies to hope to win this tournament while remaining vigilant if the wind mixes with the game.

Among the players invited thanks to their victory on the Tour, only Rory McIlroy will not be present for this 2022 edition of the tournament of champions.
