PGA Catalunya Resort: three holes of the Stadium Course voted "the best in Catalonia"
The spectacular experience offered by the Stadium Course of the multi-award-winning PGA Catalunya Resort has been singled out in a new survey by the Catalan Golf Federation which has ranked three of the holes on the course among the “18 best” in the region.
By gathering the votes of the social networks of thousands of golfers, fans and followers, the Stadium Course, which has hosted the Spanish Open three times, holes 1, 9 and 11 were voted as the best of the region It has also received more nominations than any other course in Catalonia.
The survey was conducted by Tony Enciso, President of the PGA of Catalonia, with the support of the Catalan Golf Federation (FCGolf).
Thousands of people submitted their picks on social media voting for the best opening hole on day one, followed by their favorite second hole on day two and so on, up to the final 'Best 18 in Catalonia' at the outcome of the vote.
The Stadium Course's first hole, a 4-yard (435m) par 398, left dog-leg, has a memorable raised tee with stunning views of the Mountseny Mountains at the foot of the Pyrenees. The 9 - the longest par 4 on the course - is a right dog-leg with an uncompromising raised green.
To complete the winning trio, the picturesque 11th, a welcoming par 3 that drops 13 meters onto a very well defended green, flanked by two bunkers on the front and sides and surrounded halfway up by a pond.
The Stadium Course at the PGA Catalunya Resort, near Girona, has long been the number 1 in Spain *.
