The two new 18-hole Navarino Hills courses - voted "best new golf project in the world" at the 2020 World Golf Awards - were designed by the two-time Masters champion José María Olazábal, who has sublimated the incredible natural canvas that surrounds him. was offered.

Set in the heart of a unique area offering sumptuous views of the sea, the mountains and the surrounding valleys, the two courses measure respectively 6 m and 366 m and offer an average green area of 6 m².

José María Olazábal guides us : “The first course is closer to the cliffs… the wind is always going to be a determining factor there and it is a little more difficult. "

“… On the second course, you are more protected and you enjoy more tree-lined holes, with the forest and the mountains as a backdrop. The whole thing makes an ideal whole when you come to play in Costa Navarino for a few days because the sensations and the views are different on each course. "

The global pandemic hasn't stopped construction from moving forward quickly in Navarino Hills. All the infrastructure works, including electrical installations, rainwater drainage works as well as a new 15 m000 irrigation pond, were completed last summer.

The seeding was entirely carried out on the first course, as well as the maintenance building, the tracks for cart and the bunkers. At the same time, all the excavation work was completed on the second course, the next step being the laying of topsoil on the playing surfaces. In accordance with Costa Navarino's commitment to sustainable development, a water reservoir of 485 m000 was created to meet the watering needs of the two courses, while 3 of native forest species, shrubs, seasonal flowers and local herbs were planted.

Nuno Sepulveda, Managing Director of Dunes Golf SA, declares: “We are delighted with the progress of the project and look forward to welcoming the first golf enthusiasts early next year. With a total of four signature courses, we are confident that Costa Navarino will become the brand new golf destination in Europe. Offering multiple gaming experiences in the heart of a striking natural landscape, an idyllic climate and top-of-the-range leisure, sports and hospitality facilities, Navarino Hills has undoubtedly something to seduce the international golfing community ”.

Added to this is the new clubhouse, construction of which should be completed by December. Designed by the famous architect Lubomír Zeman and made from local stones and materials, it intends to achieve class A + in terms of energy efficiency, in particular thanks to photovoltaic panels. When completed next spring, the Navarino Hills golf facility will also include a driving range for 60 players and a 15m² small game area.

Participants of the 5th Messinia Pro-Am will have the exclusive chance to play on the first of two courses in November, with delivery of the second 18 holes expected early next year.

Navarino Hills is the perfect complement to Costa Navarino's two signature golf courses, The Dunes Course (designed by Bernhard Langer in association with European Tour Design) and The Bay Course (created by Robert Trent Jones II).

When the two Navarino Hills courses open in spring 2022, the benchmark high-end eco-responsible destination in the Mediterranean will be one of the few to offer its guests four signed golf courses over a radius of 13 km, further consolidating its position as elite golf destination in Europe.
