In view of the prestigious Ryder Cup competition at the Golf National in 2018, a press trip for the attention of specialized American media was organized in partnership with Atout France USA, the Normandy Regional Tourism Committee and the tourism in Deauville.

The purpose of this reception was to promote the Normandy region, which is one of the largest golfing destinations in France.

The program offered to the press from across the Atlantic revolves around its golf courses, its lifestyle and its major tourist sites and events.

Journalists were able to play the golf Barrière Deauville and the Omaha Beach golf courses. They also visited Deauville, the landing beaches as well as the Domaine de la Pommeraie distillery and attend the closing ceremony of the Deauville American Film Festival.

The program continued in two other major French golfing destinations, the Paris region with the now legendary Golf National, the Palace of Versailles, and on the Côte d'Azur on the magnificent Terre Blanche golf course.

“Ryder Cup 2018” objective

Normandy and its 31 courses are located at the gates of the 2018 Ryder Cup which will take place for the first time in France at the Golf National de Saint-Quentinen-Yvelines. This most important team golf competition in the world is held every two years alternately in the United States or in Europe.

One of the objectives of this event is to develop the attractiveness of France as a golfing destination so that foreign tourists, and especially American customers, come to attend the Ryder Cup in Paris and stay a few more days to play golf. or that they return to France during a future stay.
