Thanks to Nikon's vibration reduction system, vibrations of the image in the viewfinder due to hand movements have been reduced by at least 1/5 (according to Nikon measurement standards). The stability of the subject in the viewfinder makes it easier to aim at the target. This technology considerably simplifies the measurement of distances and reduces errors, for example the risk that the laser beam misses the target or measures an erroneous target.

Both models use Closest Target Priority mode. This mode allows you to measure the distance to a flag on a field with trees in the background. In addition, with the new LOCKED ON technology, the LOCKED ON sign appears on the viewfinder to inform of the display of the distance to the nearest target. Golf players therefore always have the certainty of knowing the correct distance to the flag.

The COOLSHOT 80 VR is designed exclusively for measuring the real distance while the COOLSHOT 80i VR incorporates ID technology which displays the actual compensated distance (horizontal distance ± height), making it the ideal accessory for golf courses hilly.
