Manon De Roey wins at the Australian Women's Classic
Belgian Manon De Roey won the Australian Women's Classic with a total score of -9. She finished one shot ahead of England's Cara Gainer. Cholcheva Wongras completed the podium at -7. This was the Belgian's third victory on the Ladies European Tour, having last won last year in South Africa. Nastasia Nadaud finished in the top 20, finishing 16th in this Australian tournament.
Manon De Roey built on her success in the second round with an impressive 63, the second-best score of the tournament. Her final day of 69 allowed her to fend off the comeback of Cara Gainer, who posted a final round of 68. Cholcheva Wongras, in ambush after two solid rounds, finished with a 70, which put her alone in third place.
This is the third victory on the Ladies European Tour for the Belgian player, who represented her nation at the last Olympic Games in Paris. She last won last year at the Investec SA Women's Open.
Australian Sarah Kemp, who led at the start of the final round, finished her week with a solid 74 (+4). She finished just off the podium in 4th place.
Strong performance from Frenchwoman Nastasia Nadaud, who finished as the best Frenchwoman at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club. She finished 16th in the final standings despite shooting over par on the final round with a 72 (+2): sixteen pars and two bogeys.
Perrine Delacour and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard finished 31st in the event. Camille Chevalier once again shot above par, shooting a 71 (+1) for 53rd place.
