Henderson, who found himself chased all day by some of the biggest names on the LPGA Tour including Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson, had a clear round making a 66 (-3) card, as the 5th par 5 hole has been converted to a par 3 due to standing water in the fairway.

"Super excited right now"said Henderson. “I really played stable, and that putt on No 16 was really huge. Looking behind me now, it's even bigger than I thought. It's really cool to be able to put pressure on those putts. The ranking got carried away. There are so many big names up there, so finishing at the top is really exciting. "

Henderson was close to perfection on Sunday, hitting 11 of the 12 fairways and missing just two greens of the day.

“It was really difficult today. Ended up at -3 and I don't think I did any bogeys today either which was great. The wind really helped. I was a little surprised when I looked at the classification and I had a two point lead over the 18th ”, she said. “I'm super happy to finally have my fourth victory. "

The 19-year-old celebrated Father's Day with her sister Brittany (her full-time caddy) and her parents Dave and Darlene Henderson who were on hand for the victory.

"This morning, my father said:" Do it for me ", so it's really for him"said Henderson of his father. “He's my trainer, my best friend and an awesome dad, so thanks, dad! "

Wie, who tied for second with Thompson, scored his best season finale. She didn't do any bogeys on Sunday, but she failed to get back to the back nine.

"It was hard there"said Wie. “The wind started to blow and it was interesting. Some places are really wet, some places are dry, but overall I felt like I played well this week and I'm happy with it. "

The LPGA Tour travels to Arkansas next week for the WalMart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, where Ko will defend his title.

Henderson, meanwhile, will take next week and return to Ottawa before heading to the KPMG Women's PGA Championship as the defending champion.
