Facing the sparkling waters of Lake Geneva and the majestic peaks of the Alps, the Evian Resort Golf Club offers a unique and intense experience, in total immersion, like in the shoes of an LPGA Tour champion. A destination that notably includes two courses of excellence, the mythical "The Champions Course" and "The Lake Course", an Academy at the cutting edge of education and technology, and a magnificent Manor.

The Evian Resort Golf Club is much more than a great golf course. It embodies both excellence and refinement, beauty and the spirit of challenge. This extraordinary place welcomes the best players in the world every year during The Amundi Evian Championship, one of the 5 Majors of the women's world circuit, the only one in continental Europe; and has been certified High Performance Partner by Callaway since 2022.

Route: A historical heritage, an exceptional setting

The Evian Resort Golf Club offers two exceptional courses, the iconic Champions Course and the Lake Course. The first is a true masterpiece. Its 18-hole course, 6 meters long, fits into an exceptional setting, with breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the Alpine peaks. Its history dates back to 030, when the Société des Eaux Minérales d'Evian acquired the farm and the land used. Nine holes of golf were then built in anticipation of the opening of the Hôtel Royal. Almost 1904 years later, the Evian Masters, the first international women's golf tournament, was born on the initiative of Antoine and Franck Riboud, who wanted to showcase the champions. In 90, the Evian Masters entered into legend by becoming the fifth Major, and the only one in continental Europe, under the name of The Evian Championship.

Over the years, this championship course has gained in technicality and scale. The manicured fairways, the very rolling mirror greens, the bodies of water and the strategically placed bunkers are a delight, and each hole provides real emotion. Signature holes (#2, #5, and the infamous “Puzzle” from hole #15 to hole #18) can quickly rock your scorecard. An intense golfing experience that has some great surprises in store!

In 2020, the Evian Resort Golf Club has acquired a second course. Baptized "The Lake Course" and composed of 6 par 3 with a total length of 834 meters, it allows beginners and experienced golfers to indulge their passion in less than 1 hour 15 minutes. Designed by architect Dave Sampson, The Lake Course is technical, with tees for all levels and very high quality greens.

The Academy: a tailor-made training center

But the Evian Resort Golf Club is not limited to its courses. It also has the Academy, a unique 15-hectare site opened in 2006. Equipped with 6 training modules, a putting green overlooking Lake Geneva and David Leadbetter-certified teaching, the Academy offers players the opportunity to improve in record time (individual lessons, courses, club fitting, etc.). Each player can follow an educational program adapted to his level. The secret ? a professional and human team, relying on advanced technologies: Trackman, Boditrak, SAM PuttLab, MySwing… Constantly in search of improvement, the complex is inspired by the best in the world.

Recently, the Evain Resort Golf Club Academy has also enriched its offer for its visitors, thanks to the installation of TopTracer Range technology on one of its training modules (allowing to obtain ultra-precise statistical data on each strokes played) as part of a global agreement with the Callaway group, but also a Big Tilt Pro XL mat (usable as part of a lesson), and the addition of TrackMan Range to its practice!

Accommodation at the Evian Resort Golf Club: gems nestled between lake and mountain

Within the Academy, the Manoir du Golf allows you to continue the golfing experience. It's the perfect place for those who want to stay in the heart of the action. With 7 bedrooms and a suite overlooking the lake, this refuge built in 1991 has the charm of English clubhouses. Located at the foot of the training center, between the driving range and The Lake Course, it ensures total immersion, from morning until evening.

Other options: Almost within driving distance of the Academy and the courses, the Hôtel Royal, holder of the prestigious “Palace” label, and the Hôtel Ermitage****, two jewels of the French hotel industry:

The Hôtel Royal, erected in honor of King Edward VII of England (who died before it opened), was inaugurated in 1909. Among its many guests were the Queen Mother of England, Marcel Proust, Sacha Guitry , Edith Piaf, Greta Garbo, Ray Charles, Errol Flynn, and many heads of state, princes and ambassadors… For more than a century, he has illustrated the French way of life. Magnificently restored in 2015 by the architects François Chatillon and François Champsaur, it has kept its superb appearance, enriched with more modern touches thanks to a collection of 1500 works of contemporary art. In the kitchen, the starred chef Patrice Vander of the restaurant Les Fresques draws his inspiration over the seasons from his vegetable garden and from small local producers. The Hôtel Royal deserved to be included in the prestigious collection of The Leading Hotels of the World.

The 4-star Hôtel Ermitage has also been frequented by a fine clientele, particularly in the 20s. Its 80 rooms and family suites with an intimate and refined atmosphere feature natural materials and lines. At La Table, the Sunday brunch and signature cocktails are a must.

The Amundi Evian Championship

From July 27 to 30, 2023, the cameras of 175 territories will be trained on The Champions Course, for the next edition of The Amundi Evian Championship, which will welcome the crème de la crème of women's golf: the world n°1 Jin Young Ko, the defending champion Brooke Henderson, and other renowned players such as the Indian Aditi Ashok, the No. 1 in the European Race to Costa del Sol ranking, and Céline Boutier, the French No. 1 currently 11th in the world ranking.
